French Businessman Volunteers to Promote for CICGF
It was French businessman Mr. A.Chegri’s third trip to Ningbo, since his first visit to the 6th China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) in June, 2007. This time, apart from doing business, one important job he would like to seek was: to be the promoter for CICGF, to invite more business people to attend the fair.

Chegri happened to know about CICGF via internet. Though knowing nothing about the fair before, the 6th CICGF and the sponsor city Ningbo have left a deep impression on him. He thinks that products made in China have great competitiveness in European market, and CICGF is a nice international trade platform both for buyers and suppliers, filled with great business opportunities. It was the unique advantages and excellent service of CICGF that made him burgeon the idea of cooperation.

Chegri’s desire came true. Li Xinhua, Vice Secretary of CICGF Organizing Committee met with him. A cooperation agreement was signed, authorizing Chegri as the agent for promoting CICGF in France and other regions. From now on, the lovely little rattle-drum cartoon CICGF mascot appears on Chegri’s business cards.

CICGF in Foreign Buyers' Eyes

The fast developing CICGF (China International Consumer Goods Fair) is attracting more and more buyers from home and abroad each year, and most of them come out of the trade fair with their goals accomplished. Tony Williams, a buyer from the UK was satisfied with his first successful visit to the fair. He found out about the 5th CICGF via the internet, and came to China on the same day that he got his visa. Since it was his first visit to China, he knew nothing about the fair and the city – Ningbo. But what did that matter? Before the end of the fair, he already bought 3 containers of samples! He told Mr. Li Xinhua, Vice Secretary General of CICGF Organizing Committee, “My trip in Ningbo in June was successful and I made some useful contacts that have resulted in planning 6 orders to date, and I am sure that this will increase and that there will be many more future orders. It (CICGF) was a very well organized and executed event. The standard and size are much higher than I expected.” He also told Mr. Li that goods such as home appliances, leisure goods, furniture and bath wares are very suitable to the UK market. “Ningbo is a good place for me to enlarge my business, and I will sure attend the continued fair and I’m even considering to set an office in Ningbo in the near further.”

"I’m impressed by rich varieties on the fair. A lot of manufacturers from local areas and other parts of China have their stands there. It provides really good chances for those who want to do business in China. I was afraid my trip would be horrible because I know nothing about Chinese. Guess what? The fair provides free interpretation service. I just can't believe that. At this point, it is better than Canton Fair." said Dr.M.M.Obaji, president of Norama Business Co., Ltd.

Craig, a foreign resident of Ningbo (known as “Mr. Ningbo” for his comprehensive knowledge of the city), operator of www.NingboGuide.com, gives more credible comments on the fair. “This will be my fourth time to attend the CICGF, and I am excited about this year’s event.  The 6th CICGF will be the biggest and best fair yet.  You’ve heard all the numbers, 3,000 booths, 15,000 foreign buyers, and so on.  But what does all this mean to you?  It means that there will be more choices, more variety, and most importantly, more competition for your business.  The CICGF is a powerful platform for establishing contacts and developing brands in the strongly growing Asian-Pacific market”.

“But not only the business side leaves a good impression on visitors and exhibitors. The atmosphere inside the exhibition hall is very positive. As you enter the trade show premises, local spirit mixes with international know-how, and trade show business intermingles with a relaxed and friendly intercultural atmosphere. The CICGF is graced with good weather and mild spring temperatures, the perfect weather for cooperation inside and outside the hall.  Most factories have their premises within a short drive of the convention center.  Get them to pick you up and visit their factory.”  Craig gives high recognition to the fair, and is publishing his first edition of English-language magazine Ningbo Guide  in June with the lovely CICGF mascot on the front cover.
